We all know how the big tobacco companies influence our children when it comes to smoking.
Oh sure…
They say they don’t, but the statistics speak for themselves.
And the fact is, big tobacco has so much money backing them that it’s quite a challenge for average folks like us to put up a decent fight.
I mean for crying out loud, as part of the 1998 state tobacco settlement, the tobacco companies promised not to “take any action, directly or indirectly, to target our children with their advertising.”
Yet in the three years that followed, they increased their marketing budget by 66.6% to a record 11.2 Billion.
Do you realize, that averages out to 30.7 million a day?
Now that’s a whole lotta money!
As parents, we obviously can’t afford to fight big tobacco one-on-one. Their pockets are way too deep.
The only way we can fight is by educating our own children, so that when the time comes, they’ll be able to make informed decisions for themselves, without the aid of “Big Tobacco”.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the Get Mold Solutions website, I’m up against the same kind of fight.
I’ve been operating this consumer awareness site for about three years now.
And as you know, I’m just a one-man operation, trying to get information into the hands of those who need it most, before they unwittingly come up against unethical “Big Mold” on their own.
And make no mistake about it, black mold is BIG business, and there’s a ton of unethical companies out there who are just waiting to get your phone call (in hopes that you’re scared to death, which leaves the door wide open for them to take you for thousands of dollars).
And as you can imagine, they certainly don’t want you finding the Get Mold Solutions site before you call them.
Cause then you’d be an educated and informed consumer, and they couldn’t pull the wool over your eyes and rip you off.
Now…
Before I say another word, I need to point out one very important fact.
There are plenty of ethical contractors out there as well.
So if you happen to be reading this, and you’re an ethical service provider in the cleaning and restoration industry, don’t get upset and send me nasty emails saying that I’m bad-mouthing you to the entire country.
If you’re an ethical contractor, I’m obviously not talking about you.
So instead, realize that you and I are on the same team, and I’m doing my best to show consumers how to get in touch with you if they need your services.
Alright then…
Now that we’ve got that covered, let’s move on.
If you’ve been a subscriber for any amount of time, you know that I’ve always been a pull-no-punches kind of person who always tells it like it is and gives you the no B.S. story.
And yes, I’m definitely opinionated at times, and make no apologies for that.
The fact is, this whole “black mold” thing has been blown completely out of proportion and it’s put a lot of people into what I call a “mold panic”.
Now don’t get me wrong…
Mold is a legitimate problem, and yes, it’s critical that you know how to deal with it.
But the fact is, there’s a whole lotta money to be made from uneducated consumers who are in a panic.
When you’re in a “mold panic”, you make irrational decisions.
My goal has always been to help you avoid a “mold panic” situation by giving you real world advice that you can use to make educated and informed decisions for your household.
I share my own experiences and information with you in hopes that you’ll never fall victim to these unscrupulous companies
When I started my own cleaning and restoration business back in 1996, one of the things that really hit me was the fact that most of my clients knew very little about water damage or mold (and now, in just a few short years, mold has become a major issue in this country).
In light of this, I began educating my clients on the importance of taking care of any water damage situation, and doing so as quickly as possible.
Consumer education was always my number-one priority (and it still is).
That’s why I started the Get Mold Solutions website and began posting information on the internet.
And truth be told, it’s been very well received.
Since the inception of the website, just 3 short years ago, it’s been responsible for helping thousands of people from across the country.
But…
In the process I’ve also attracted a lot of negative attention.
Why you ask?
Because Big Mold equals Big Money!
And there are a lot of unethical companies out there loosing serious revenue because of this website.
They detest what I’m doing and they want to shut me up.
It looks like a group of these companies have banned together in an effort to get this site shut down.
Apparently they’ve contacted the media, telling them things like:
“Kevin’s a fraud”
“He doesn’t have college degree”
“He’s not an IAQ (indoor air quality) expert”
“He’s ripping people off”
And to that I say, “Get real!”
Don’t have a college degree?
Well no kidding. How many times have I talked about that in the past? I make no bones about the fact that I NEVER attended college.
But after studying mold for the last several years, reading thousands of documents, attending countless industry functions, speaking with hundreds of “ethical” service providers, as well as my own on-the-job experience, I think I might just know a little bit about water damage and mold.
And as far as ripping people off!
I challenge anyone to find just one person who’s ever been treated unfairly (or ripped off) by me.
Can’t be done.
For starters, everything I offer is guaranteed.
So if someone ain’t happy, all they gotta do is send the product back for a no questions asked refund, which they promptly get.
So let’s at least be honest here, and get to the real heart of the matter.
The real problem has absolutely nothing to do with any of the afore mentioned comments.
The real problem is that I’m offering consumers help, and after of 3 years of doing so, these guys are loosing income. Now they’re steamin mad, and they want to shut me up.
That’s the real story!
Unfortunately, I’m not about to change my No B.S. Consumer Advocate stance on mold, so I guess I’m just gonna keep on angering these low-life’s.
Right now I’m just one person up against “Big Mold”, and they got a whole lotta money backing them.
I kinda feel like David fighting Goliath, but as I recall, David won.
But with your help, we can win the battle against “Big Mold”.
All you’ve gotta do is keep telling all your friends, family and loved ones about this site, and I’ll keep doing what I do best, which is providing them with No B.S. information and steering them clear of “Big Mold”.
